Altus was a Swiss watch brand registered as Montres Altus SA / Hans Troesch, founded in 1920 in Biel (Bienne) by Hans Troesch. Troesch produced movements in the late 1920s and supplied Lange watches. In 1942, following the death of Glycine owner Ferdinand Engel, Charles Hertig of Altus took over Glycine and ran both companies under the same roof from 1951.

In August 1963 Altus was formally merged into Glycine SA, forming Glycine & Altus SA. The single documented Altus caliber (10.5 lignes) is a manual-wind wristwatch movement typical of the Swiss mid-market of the 1930s–50s. Collectors interested in Glycine's early history will find Altus a relevant chapter in that brand's lineage.
