Amida SA was a Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1918 in Grenchen by Eduard Braun and Josef Zwahlen, formally constituted in 1925. It initially focused on affordable Roskopf pin-lever movements, stopwatches, and alarm clocks — volume goods for the mass market.

Amida achieved lasting collector fame with the Digitrend, launched at the 1976 Basel Fair: a mechanical watch displaying hours via a jumping prism rather than traditional hands, blending mechanical ingenuity with the era's digital aesthetic. It remains one of the most visually distinctive mechanical watches of the quartz era and is actively sought by collectors of unusual complications. Amida closed in 1991, unable to compete with quartz. The calibers in this database (420–428 series) cover the brand's later mechanical production.
