Dugena (Deutsche Uhrmacher-Genossenschaft Alpina) is a German watch cooperative brand founded in 1917 in Eisenach by Richard Rothmann, as the German arm of the Union Horlogère / Alpina cooperative network established in 1883. Allied authorities prohibited continued use of the “Alpina” name in Germany after World War II, leading to the adoption of Dugena in 1942 in Berlin. Post-war headquarters relocated to Darmstadt (1948).

Dugena became one of West Germany's most recognisable watch brands, represented at 2,000 jewellers by 1973. Unusually among German brands, it navigated the quartz crisis successfully by adapting its range to quartz movements. The brand was relaunched in 2009 under Nova Tempora Uhren und Schmuck GmbH in Rhineland-Palatinate. For collectors, vintage Dugena mechanical watches from the 1950s–1970s — often using Dugena-branded movements related to the Swiss Alpina caliber lineage — represent solid mid-market German horology at accessible prices.
