Mido is a Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1918 by George G. Schaeren in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The name derives from the Spanish phrase yo mido (I measure). In 1934 Mido launched the Multifort — one of the first watches to combine automatic winding, anti-magnetic protection, shockproofing, and water resistance in a single case. In 1945 Mido introduced one of the earliest centrally-reading chronograph displays.

The brand joined ASUAG in 1972 and has been part of the Swatch Group since 1985, based in Le Locle. Mido is notable for architectural design inspiration applied across its collections. Vintage Multifort models from the 1930s–50s are collected for their early integration of functional watch features and clean Art Deco aesthetics.
