The Henri Stern Watch Agency, Inc. (HSWA) used code HOX to import Patek Philippe and Universal Genève watches into the US. Henri Stern, a Patek family member, established the New York agency in 1935 and became exclusive US distributor for Patek Philippe (formalized 1945) and Universal Genève (from 1941, including thousands of chronographs supplied to the US armed services during WWII). Stern ran the agency until 1958 when he returned to Geneva as Patek Chairman. IWC is also listed under HOX in some sources, though IWC movements cased by Henry Blank & Co. (Newark) bear the separate HXB code.

Early adopter: HOX predates the formal US–Switzerland trade agreement of May 1, 1936, which mandated import codes for all Swiss watch movements entering the United States.
