Doxa SA (Le Locle, founded 1889 by 21-year-old Georges Ducommun) was its own US importer. Notable for its 8-day pocket watch caliber (patented 1907) used in Bugatti racing cars. Following Ducommun's death in 1936, the firm passed to his son-in-law Jacques Nardin, grandson of Ulysse Nardin. Later famous for the SUB 300 dive watch (1967), exclusively distributed in the Americas by Jacques Cousteau's US Divers company.
