Locarno Calibers
Locarno is a Swiss watch trade name used by Sindaco S.A., an assembler based in Muralto, Switzerland. Sindaco purchased Roskopf pin-lever ébauches from Bettlach SA and assembled complete watches for the popular-price market, particularly targeting the British trade during the 1950s. The Locarno name — borrowed from the Swiss-Italian lakeside city — was one of several model names applied to these watches.
Locarno does not represent an independent manufacture; it is a trade name from a mid-century Swiss assembler working with standard pin-lever movements. Documentation on the broader Sindaco operation is limited.
