Liengme Calibers
Liengme & Co. S.A. was a Swiss watch manufacturer established on 16 January 1888 in Cormoret, canton of Bern, Switzerland. The company registered its Liengme and LCO trademarks in 1897 and marketed watches under several house brands. The Gala brand — incorporated into Liengme in 1938 — became its best-known consumer label alongside Veto, Certo, Orvie, Orvin, and Herlis. Liengme developed its own shock-protection device for its movements.
The company produced anchor-escapement movements across a range of sizes from pocket watch to wristwatch calibers. It operated until approximately 1974. The variety of brand names under which Liengme calibers appear makes identification of these movements a point of interest for collectors of Swiss mid-tier watches.
