Soprod Calibers
Soprod SA was founded on 16 September 1966 in Tramelan, canton of Bern, Switzerland, by a consortium of seven Swiss watch companies including A. Reymond SA, Hoga Watch SA, and Willy Chofat & Cie. The founding goal was to produce Swiss mechanical movement blanks as an independent supplier at a time when Ebauches SA dominated that market. Operating across sites in the Swiss Jura and Valais regions, Soprod established itself as one of a small number of credible independent Swiss movement makers.
The company passed through several ownership changes: Léman Capital (2005), combined with SFT Group as STM Holding, sold to Hong Kong's Peace Mark (2007), and finally acquired by the Festina Group in 2008, its current owner. Soprod is today recognised as a quality independent Swiss mechanical movement supplier, best known for the A10 automatic caliber and the M100 series, and undertakes confidential module and complication development for major luxury brands. The documented calibers — 6024, 6029, 9035, 9326, and 2021 (all A10-2 variants) — span the automatic base movement family.
